Pussy Riot: the riot of youth hormones against the body of Christ

As I commented in French on the case of the Russian punk punks Pussy Riot, here is something I wrote about them in English, as a comment to a blog post who supports them.

The problem with anti-Putinism is that it is represented by almost nobody in Russia. That’s what I like in Russia – they have a strong national sovereignty and self-determination, so “Westernizers” cannot do other than complain that the government in Russia is bad – while ignoring the real democratic argument – that Putin best represents the average Russian’s opinion.
They violated social order and got what they deserved. They really could’ve done something else to protest. And actually the Patriarch didn’t laugh – he actually saw that the Russian Church is still not the home to all Russians. Purposeless rioters (like all who propose no good alternative to Putin) contribute nothing to Russia and her culture and values. He even treated them as Christians – after all, their song was a prayer. He condemned their sin. What we have to expect from them is public repentance. But rebellion always corrupts man to the very roots of his nature, so I’d rather be pessimistic.

Now, what I’ll add is the sad fact that they are mothers. And the sad things in this are two: that their children will be left without mothers for seven years, probably to be taught things against Christ’s Church; but also that mothers have done that. Mothers have nothing to do in playing in punk bands, or not restraining their hormones and falling in hooliganism and blasphemy.
